Sweet Meadows Farm Pattern Dollies!!!!!

Here is a couple of little dolls I made from http://sweetmeadowsfarm.blogspot.com/
Sweet Meadows Farm Patterns actually both patterns were together in the little big doll
pattern pack!!!!!  They were fun and easy to make!!!!! The small one in orange was made a while back and the taller doll was finished up recently!!!!!  I know the taller dolls arms are sticking straight out, I will do that different next round!!!!!  Any dollmakers have any suggestions on how I could do better please let me know!!!!! Thanks   hugs

Caral you are improving. These are good...I will share as I have not been making dolls that long, you do get better and learn new tricks each time you make another...I am anxious for your next ones...Here is a tip that works for me..when choosing fabrics try to find very small prints, they are more to scale for the size dolls we are making...it certainly works for me...ok what next>? blessings madame samm...

avery cute! i have a few of her patterns but yet to make any!! for the arms i only stuff mine about up to the elbows, or sometimes i stuff to elbow make a dimple stitch and stuff a little bit more. not much just enough to add a little fluff just above joint. same for the legs i usually never stuff all the way up, then they can dangle off a shelf. raggedy old annies is another of my favorite pattern designers, i have made so many of her raggedys.

Hi, Carla,
Your dolls are as cute as can be!! I don't sew at all so I always have the greatest admiration for those who do. I think the larger doll with her arms outstretched looks like she is wanting a hug! Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit at Bunny Cottage! Vicki

Hey Carla your dollies are cute and your doing a great job. For the arms don't fill all the way up. Now where the filling stops sew across that part to keep the filling from moving about. Tuck in the tops of the arms so it wont show raw edges then hold the arms against the body and pin you can tell at the point how they will hang. Samm also gave you a great suggestion about picking out prints. Jess video is great I can't wait to see your Anne I'm going to make one also
Peace and Blessings
Cheryl..Snatch JOY~!

Your Annie is perfect (between you and me, these dolls talk to us, so if she told you she wanted big print, well, you just have to do it, they have a way of coming out perfect anyway :)) As for the arms, I button sew them on so that they move up and down - same with the legs. Use carpet thread and a long doll needle and go from one arm to the next fasten off and do the same with the legs. Just FYI Blessings, Janet
